Jacob Penner was born on December 19th, 1889.  Jacob Penner's father was Jacob Penner and his mother was Sara Redekop.  His maternal grandparents were David Redekop and Aganetha Giesbrecht. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Johan Penner, Martin Penner, Isaak Penner, Anna Penner, Agatha Penner, Helena Penner, Elizabeth Penner, Aganetha Penner, Katarina Pennner and Maria Penner.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Peter Wiebe, David Wiebe, Abram Wiebe and Sarah Dueck.
