Katarina Pennner was born on August 28th, 1900.  Katarina Pennner's father was Jacob Penner and her mother was Sara Redekop.  Her maternal grandparents were David Redekop and Aganetha Giesbrecht. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Jacob Penner, Johan Penner, Martin Penner, Isaak Penner, Anna Penner, Agatha Penner, Helena Penner, Elizabeth Penner, Aganetha Penner and Maria Penner.  She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Peter Wiebe, David Wiebe, Abram Wiebe and Sarah Dueck.
